Located between three prestigious first growths "châteaux" of the "Pessac-Leognan appellation", Le SARTRE was a well-known winery in the 19th century. Rediscovered in the early eighties by the Perrin family, owners of "Chateau Carbonnieux", the 90 acres estate of first-rate terroir is now managed since 2005 by Marie-José Leriche. The 88.6 acres of the estate are planted at a density of 2,650 plants per acre with the traditional varieties of the Pessac-Leognan AOC. The average age of the vines is 21 years for the red, and 19 years for the white vines. The terroir is composed by Sauvignon-Blanc,Cabernet-Sauvignon, Semillon, Merlot, Cabernet-Franc.
