Wine Region: Barossa Valley, Australia
Tasting Notes: Garganega is the 5th largest white grape variety grown in Italy and its long loose bunches help it in the deefence of disease. For Kaesler, Garganega is all about texture so they incorporate long fermentation and a few months of lees aging before bottling.
The colour is a pale straw colour with slight pink hues. Grassy passionfruit and musk with hints of lanolin make up the nose, with a touch of peach, marzipan and mango. The palate has a slight touch of spice, along with lemon and cracked pepper with a zesty lime finish. It is textural with a creamy finish and tight acid lines.
Enjoy in its youth or cellar for up to 10 years.
About the Winery
The Kaesler family were pioneers who settled in the Barossa Valley in the 1840s. In 1891 they bought a parcel of land and in 1893 planted their first vines. Today, Kaesler Wines are made from these ancient, dry grown vineyards by the third owners of this magnificent property.
