Wine Region: Tuscany, Italy

Grapes: Syrah, Merlot, Sangiovese

Tasting Notes

Merlot, Syrah and small quantities of Sangiovese. Balsamic notes, typical of the main grape variety in the blend on the nose, round, pervasive, with sweet tannins, perfectly balanced. Complex, long, yet not overpowering. From appetizers to cold cuts, with steamy pasta dishes in meat sauces. Not to be forgotten, the pairing with seasoned cheeses, stewed meats or dry chocolate biscuits.

About the Winery

Between the Tuscan hills and only a few kilometres from Florence, lies the COLLAZZI winery. The majestic villa, with a breath-taking architecture that has been attributed to Michelangelo, is considered to be one of the most impressive estates in Tuscany. The villa, along with its 25 hectares of vineyards, belongs to the siblings Carlo and Bona Marchi as well as Bona's son Lamberto Frescobaldi, who is the new head of one of the oldest families of Florence, the Marchesi di Frescobaldi. It is Lamberto's responsibility and knowledge under which the COLLAZZI wines are being produced.
