A medium garnet colour, the nose is primarily plums up frontfrom the Sangiovese and Shiraz. Grenache offers lifted cherry, raspberry and floral aromatics. Dried herb/tarragon/earthy twist from the Sangiovese. Medium bodied and Savoury in the mouth. Talc/powdery Grenache tannins provides the frame work for the savoury tannin of the Sangiovese. Both of these varieties lead well with the acid & tannin driving the structure. Shiraz embellishes the mid palate with a touch of sweetness and fullness but not enough to distract from Italian intention of the wine.
About the Winery
The Kaesler family were pioneers who settled in the Barossa Valley in the 1840s. In 1891 they bought a parcel of land and in 1893 planted their first vines. Today, Kaesler Wines are made from these ancient, dry grown vineyards by the third owners of this magnificent property.
