Wine Region: Barossa Valley, Australia

Grapes: Cinsault, Syrah

Tasting Notes

Blue purple mid weight. Cranberries, blueberries with a woody herb background. Skips across the palate like a game of hopscotch, juicy, makes me salavate. The white wine drinkers red, light, bright and fresh as a new day.

The Wine Front, Mike Bennie - "A blend of Cinsault and Syrah. The wine is built as an early drinking style red. Sweet perfume of sun dried plums, mixed berries, some eucalyptus and dried, mixed Italian herbs. Sloshy in the palate, loose knit and easy going feel. Concentrated fruit character, sweetish, some dried fruit Xmas cake characters, some savoury spice characters. Finishes with a twist of green herbs and fresh acidity. Delicious! Youthful style nailed. Drink with a chill."
About the Winery

Smallfry wines is a partnership in business and life between Suzi Hilder and Wayne Ahrens. We are viticulturists bitten by the winemaking bug, the chance to turn our own fruit into wine is too good to pass up. That we are also foodies drives our winemaking down a certain path. Natural ferments, nil to minimal adjustment, old oak a soft hand in the cellar allows the vineyard to speak. The style is food friendly, Euro style, with a eye to balance and subtlety.
