Artist Collective 3.0 Distilled At Miltonduff 9 YO 2009

$140.00

Famed for its robust and oily character, the single malt produced by Miltonduff is used in large part in the composition of Ballantine’s famous blended scotch. From 1964 to 1981, the distillery was equipped with two Lomond stills for the production of a very rare second single malt, Mosstowie. Particularly complex and rich, note after note this bottling passionately performs an aromatic and gustatory score that wonderfully reproduces Miltonduff’s sweet maltiness and fruitiness. Additionally, with extraordinary force of character, it charmingly asserts its very original and hot personality as the tasting goes on.

The unctuous initial nose is vanilla and fruity (pear). Allowed to breathe, it becomes exotic (banana, passion fruit) medicinal and spicy (black pepper). The powerful attack is then medicinal (ointment), honeyed and fruity. The mid-palate is both chocolatey and malty. The rich, well-balanced finish evokes an apple tart. The end of the palate is characterized by notes of tobacco and spice (nutmeg). On the retro-nasal olfaction, black fruits (bramble) guide the tasting towards new lands.

Distillery Profile:
In the same way, each of the single malts found in our new Artist Collective range draws the richness of their olfactory and gustatory palettes from the marriage of various casks. Devoted to diversity, every region and every style of Scottish single malt, peated and unpeated, are represented.

Within this range we also find 43%, 48%, 57.1% (100 proof) and cask-strength bottlings. To illustrate the labels of the seven bottlings in our second collection, La Maison du Whisky has called on contemporary artists from very different backgrounds. Each of them brings their own very personal touch that echoes the richness of the single malts selected!
