Aurore de Dauzac 2015 375ml

$52.00 $39.00

The 2015 Aurore de Dauzac is a blend of 62% Cabernet Sauvignon and 38% Merlot.

In the glass, the wine sits a deep, dark ruby with purple highlights and a crimson rim.

The nose is classic Margaux, overflowing with cassis, blueberry and raspberry fruits enhanced with subtle notes of vanilla, tobacco and violets. On the palate, the wine is generous and concentrated with firm, ripe tannins and a gentle acidity.

The rich intensity of fruit flavors cascade across the mid-palate and flow into a long, ripe finish which stays with you long after the wine is gone. The 2015 Aurore de Dauzac will please lovers of classic Bordeuax, but if you like the fruit intensity and richness of California Cabs, there is weight and persistence to impress.

Winery Profile:
Château Dauzac is located in Margaux and is ranked a 5th Growth from the 1855 Classification of Bordeaux. The Château is famous for its vineyard management, which includes the first successful use of the Bordeaux Mixture (a mix of copper sulfate and lime to combat downy mildew), as well as the introduction of vinification techniques like using ice to control the temperature of fermentation.

Today, Laurent Fortin continues the history of innovation that is a hallmark of the château. In 2013 the team created a second label, Aurore de Dauzac, as part of an inventive process to identify new terroirs in their vineyards. The wine comes from a careful selection of young vines on specific plots of gravel soils. The vision, in collaboration with Stéphanie, is to produce an expression of a specific geology of the vineyard, while also providing an aromatically driven wine that retains and showcases the classic character of Margaux. Well, they did it, and at an incredible value too!
