Betz Family Winery Untold Story 2018

The 2018 Untold Story is deeply colored, with a dark purple core fading out to a bright magenta rim. The color is reflective of the aromatics: smoky black fruits, blueberries, blackberries, dark plums and cassis swirl about, adding incense and graphite alongside crushed herbs as it gets air. The palate is layered with a plush texture that perfectly balances fresh acidity and fine tannins leading to a lengthy finish that carries a delightful mix of bright rosemary, fresh berries and cracked spice.

Winery Profile:
Since the first vintage in 1997 they’ve had a single minded goal of crafting compelling wines with individual character that are approachable and ageworthy, and which showcase Washington as a distinguished wine region of the world. In 2014 Betz Family made the decision to purchase their own vineyards, with 22.5 acres planted to Bordeaux varieties on SeVein and 12.5 acres planted mainly to Syrah in the Rocks District, of Milton Freewater, both in Walla Walla. By carving out specific vineyard blocks and being meticulous in the vineyard and cellar they are able to achieve the quality they aspire to. As importantly over the years their winery culture has become a way of life in which everyone – the growers, winery team and customers are family.
