Château Barde Haut 2007

This 2007 asserts itself as a Saint-Emilion for aging, very colorful and woody. Airing reveals a pleasant plum note in the brandy. Warm and fruity on the attack, the palate is quickly dominated by powerful tannins, still austere but elegant, which will gain in rounding two or three years.

Distillery Profile:
Barde-Haut is part of the family-owned Vignobles Garcin, alongside Clos L’Eglise in Pomerol and Haut-Bergey in Pessac-Léognan, among others. The vineyards are extremely well-situated, not far from top names like Troplong Mondot, Trottevielle, La Mondotte, and rising star Tour Saint Christophe.

The Garcin family bought the property in 2000, and, per Parker, “has been pushing quality ever since.” Their hard work was recognized in 2012 when it was elevated to Grand Cru Classé status.
