Château Figeac 1989 Saint-Émilion Grand Cru (Premier Grand Cru Classé)

Château-Figeac has always been recognized for being one of the great Bordeaux wines that evolve the best over time, gaining over the years a tasty and gourmet complexity. It is tasted as well in its first years as at the end of several decades. We first appreciate the dress with deep, purple shades in imperial tones. The nose presents a crazy charm and merloté in its youth, which gives way to a striking depth of nature to satisfy all lovers of Cabernet.

Its aromas transcribe the lightness of its soils which translate into a very subtle airy olfaction: peony, infused fruits, graphite show great vitality. 2/3 Cabernets literally sculpt the material, strengthening the base from the mid-palate, developing the long, taut, vibrant spine, with very pure mineral notes on the finish. The touch of satiny and pulpy tannin perfectly dresses the whole, in a very haute couture style … Over the years, the wine takes on flavors of tobacco leaf, some nuances of black truffle while keeping an incomparable freshness of fruit.
