Intense purplish red. The complex taste of wine has a smooth texture, silky tannins and refreshing acidity, demonstrates the tone of the berries framed by the nuances of spices, dark chocolate, graphite, tobacco and minerals. The complex aroma of the wine smoothly reveals notes of fruit, cherry and blackberry, nuances of prunes, dark flowers, spices, vanilla, tobacco, cedar wood, leather and smoked meats.

Winery Profile:
Les Chênes de Macquin is the second wine of Château Pavie Macquin which was promoted to Premier Grand Cru Classé in September 2006. Since 1994, Nicolas Thienpont is managing this property. A family property of 15 hectares, the vineyard of Pavie Macquin is situated on the summit of the Saint-Emilion plateau. The soil is made of clay-limestone.
