Domaine Cornu Hautes Cotes de Beaune Rouge 2018

Our red wine from this regional appellation is made from 100% pinot noir grapes from plots in our village of Magny les Villers. These are charming wines for their fruity, rather light raspberry / sour cherry notes. This wine typically pairs well with everyday meals that are neither too spicy nor too heavy. Its soft tannins go perfectly with savory tarts and softer cow’s milk cheeses.

Winery Profile:
The Domaine was founded over forty years ago by Claude who had worked in Romanee Conti. Now his son Alexandre Cornu is leading the winery. The vineyard practices are predominantly organic or “Lutte Raisonee” practices (organic in principle just without formal certification) and produce vibrant fruit of high quality and low yields. In the winery, wild yeasts are used, and all reds are 100% destemmed with a mixture of barrel ageing and maturation in French oak for 18 months, depending on the Cuvée.
