Ferngrove Orchid Cossack Riesling 2016

From a single block on the family owned vineyard based in the cool Great Southern, Ferngrove Winery’s flagship Ferngrove Cossack Riesling exudes fresh cut lime, pink grapefruit and zesty lemon with a long lasting minerality. Native to Australia’s South West, the Cossack Spider-orchid is the common name for the endangered flora adorning the label. Aromatic pink grapefruit with lifted floral notes, lemon and lime zest and scented blossom on the nose. Pure and dry palate, fresh lime, pink grapefruit and lemon zest with a long refreshing minerality.

Winery Profile:
Founded in 1998, producing from 100% estate-grown grapes, Ferngrove became famous for their Cossack Riesling. Western Australian ancient soils, combined with the cooling influence of the oceans, provide the time required for the grapes to ripen slowly to achieve physiological ripeness.

Ferngrove Wines, in Frankland River, is one of the world’s most isolated wine estates. While this isolation makes the logistics of winemaking tough, it is also what makes Ferngrove wines distinctly different. Proudly Australian-run with the benefits of international ownership, Ferngrove has a deep respect for the land, and is committed to crafting exceptional wines of Western Australia.
