La Prova Brusco Nebbiolo 2015


Lots of lifted Violets, star anise, brambles, sour cherry and the trademark grippy, nervy Nebbiolo palate. Hand-picked, destemmed, wild ferment. Half spends about two months on skins and the other half approximately six. The earlier press captures some fruit and firm tannin, and the later press creates texture, silkiness and an ethereal feeling. Unfined and unfiltered.

Winery Profile:
Owned by famous winemaker Sam Scott, whose passion and love for Italian grapes made him push the boundaries, he produces the most exciting wines in Adelaide Hills. His winemaking style is to avoid filtering, to fine, and adding chemicals except for minimal sulphites. Sustainable vineyard practices are applied, the vineyards are pesticide-free and have permanent mid-row grasses that eliminate the need for tilling. These practices improve soil health, maintain good composition and encourage competition for weeds. All their wines are vegan friendly.
