Laurenz V Forbidden Grüner Veltliner 2018

A delicate straw yellow with light golden highlights presents itself with this wine in the glass. The nose is spoiled by a wonderfully fruity bouquet. Very present are aromas of juicy, ripe apples – perfectly complemented by fine hints of citrus fruits. On the palate this Austrian white wine convinces with its infinite fruitiness, which harmonizes perfectly with the low alcohol content and the discreet residual sweetness.

Winery Profile:
Laurenz V (meaning Laurenz 5), named after Laurenz Moser 5th, one of the winery owners, who is the descendant of the Lenz Moser family with a history of winemaking for more than 400 years. Lenz Moser lll, known as Grandpa Gruner, because he single-handedly put the grape Grüner Veltliner on the world map as Austria’s Flagship grape. This winery is born in modern times in 2004, expresses traditional values in contemporary style.

The wine comes from the Kamptal and Kremstal areas of lower Austria where the warmth of the Danube Valley meets the cool air of the Waldviertel region. This combination develops fresh, fruity flavors in grapes while maintaining excellent acidity. The winery makes two wines Laurenz V. Charming Grüner Veltliner from Kamptal, and Laurenz und Sophie Singing Grüner Veltliner, a wine inspired by Lenz’ daughter Sophie, predominantly from Kremstal.
