Ministry Of Clouds Tempranillo Grenache 2019

$53.00

Bright notes of pomegranate, sarsaparilla, violets and nutmeg typical of dry grown Tempranillo, with the perfume and succulence of old vine Grenache. This medium bodied wine is pretty and deliberately moreish. A lithe and juicy wine, it errs on the blood orange, cherry, red berry spectrum on the palate supported by savoury tannins built around a nervy structure.

Winery Profile:
Termed a “virtual winery” Julian Forewood and Bernice Ong seek out the very best grapes from different regions of Australia in order to make refined wines that are pure and expressive. The name symbolises the relinquishing of their past security and structure (Ministry), for the freedom, independance and adventure (Clouds) inherent in their own venture. As James Halliday writes: Trying to pick highlights is futile, simply because there are so many of them, and so few words available. No surprise they are one of James’ best new wineries for 2015.

This is a négociant, formed by husband, Julian Forwood, and wife, Bernice Ong, both entirely in love with wines and dedicated to making high quality wines with lots of freshness, produced from grapes grown with sustainable viticulture practices. Their speciality lies in their ability to source grapes from vineyards that are best suited for the grape variety, and to minimize the intervention, thereby allowing the right quality of the grapes to shine.
