The 2019 Mario’s Cabernet Sauvignon is lush, with aromas of warm fig, cassis, fresh plum and mocha. Concentrated blackberries, wild raspberries and black tea flavors are complemented with a soft texture and satin-smooth finish.

Winery Profile:
Young Italian immigrant Mario Trinchero leaves New York City and heads west to the Napa Valley, hoping to build a better life for his wife Mary and their three children, Bob, Roger and Vera. The family purchases an abandoned Prohibition-era winery in St. Helena, refurbishing it and initially scraping by as a mom-and-pop operation.

In 1972, second-generation vintner Bob Trinchero creates the world’s first White Zinfandel under the Sutter Home label and the rest—as they say—is history. In 2004 they purchase the Folie à Deux Winery, north of St. Helena, with a vision for creating our first boutique wines bottled under the Trinchero Napa Valley name. To honor the family’s journey and leave an indelible legacy for future generations, the Trinchero Napa Valley Winery is built in 2007. That same year, the winemaking team crushes the first vintage of Trinchero Napa Valley.

Named for our pioneering founder Mario Trinchero, this rare jewel of a site surrounds our winery in St. Helena, along a narrow stretch of the valley floor formed by river erosion. A northwest exposure, coupled with a mix of gravel, loam and alluvial soils, makes Mario’s Vineyard ideally suited for opulent Cabernet Sauvignon with impressive structure and velvety tannins.
