Wine Region: Pauillac, France
Grapes: Cabernet franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot
This is a charming wine with a full and purple color. It displays blackberries, blackcurrant, cedar box and cider notes with seductive, closed and youthful aromas. This is a delightful, complex, medium-bodied, elegant, firm and ripe wine.
Wine Spectator 94 pts - This is so decadent and exciting on the nose, with very ripe fruit, tobacco, meat and cedar. Full-bodied, offering amazing raspberry fruit in the core of the palate. Ultrapolished, velvety tannins wonderfully coat every inch of your palate. This will age for years ahead, but it's so lovely now.
About the Winery
When mentioning the name of Chateau Latour, the image that immediately comes to mind is that of a fortified tower built on the banks of the estuary overlooking the waters, vineyards and palus. This tower that no longer exists was built in the seventeenth century on the site of a fortress, from which the English repelled the attacks of pirates.
Chateau Latour has built its reputation, especially for its beautiful dress, the complexity, the purity of the fruit, the power and the longevity of Pauillac wines. This field has always been a model of excellence, the good years as mediocre and bad. This is why some consider it the best vintage of Medoc.
