Wine Region: Maipo Valley, Chile
Grape: Cabernet Sauvignon
Popped and poured. Huge bouquet of fresh blueberry fruit, loads of fruit and jammy flavour. Super smooth and silky, moderate tannins. Medium weight, somewhat low in complexity, but super fresh for a Cabernet. Surprisingly lacking in earthy or mineral qualities. Fabulous mid-week bottle though.
About the Winery
De Martino was founded in 1934 by Pietro De Martino Pascualone, who arrived from Italy searching for a place to satisfy his passion for winemaking. The company has grown tremendously since then but still keeps its sense of being a family winery. The third and fourth generations of the De Martino family now work in the winery, preserving its dynamism, family tradition, and the adventurous, pioneering spirit of the De Martino family. Reinventing Chile represents De Martino's vision, and the primary objective of this innovative focus on production is to show that Chile has the potential to produce world-class wines.
