Wine Region: Mendoza, Argentina
Grape: Petit Verdot
Petit Verdot forms part of our icon blend and each year we select a few exceptional parcels to make a ‘mini edición’. The 2012 vintage is particularly rich in wild blueberry flavors, quince and the jasmine aromas which are characteristic of this wine. It shows great complexity and tannin structure for extensive ageing potential.
James Suckling 91 pts - Pure Petit Verdot is hard to come by and this is an excellent example with hints of dried fruits and spice. Medium to full body, firm tannins and a fresh finish. Drink now.
About the Winery
Decero, meaning “from scratch”, was born of a bare patch of land and a family´s love affair with wine. Winemaking in Thomas Schmidheiny´s family went back to his grandparents in Switzerland and, just as Napa had inspired his mother, Adda, in the 1970s, so too did Agrelo capture the heart and mind of Thomas, when travelling over the Andes into Argentina, 20 years later.
