Wine Region: Champagne, France
Grapes: Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, Chardonnay
Deutz have crafted a beautiful Champagne from the brilliant 2009 vintage. Slow ripening was key to the success of this harvest, which produced grapes imbued with both fresh acidity and intense flavours. This is a classic blend of pinot noir, chardonnay and pinot meunier, resulting in a full-flavoured, elegant Champagne. Serious and superb.
About the Winery
The house Deutz offers a range of champagnes with very fine bubbles, and dominated by a very beautiful vinosity that we owe to the dominance of Pinot in the assemblages. The Brut Classic is characteristic of the Deutz style, with a fresh attack, then a mouth dominated by the fruit, and always this little vinous touch. Brut Rosé is remarkable in terms of gluttony and finesse, while vintages are distinguished by their complexity and ability to cope with time, including the 2006 Super Vintage Power. The William Deutz cuvée develops a great richness carried by a creamy mouth, while the cuvée Amour evolves on a rounder and more complex register.
