Tasting Notes

Almost a mediterranean year: The mild winter turned into a very warm march after a very humid January and February. With sufficient water, the sprouting took place already in the second half of March. Thus, the foundation was laid for an early beginning of reading. On completion of flowering and at the beginning of berry growth, however, a great dryness persisted, which persisted throughout the berry growth period. The very warm summer brought the first grapes to maturity at the end of August, the main harvest began in early September and was already completed on 22 September, as early as never before. The wines are full-bodied, very well structured and accessible. Due to the optimal grape ripeness we expect very storable wines.

About the Winery

The Dr. Burklin-Wolf Estate has a tradition dating back to 1597, it is one of the largest and most important Estates in Germany.
The total vineyard area is 85 ha – a treasure trove of top-rated vineyard sites in the unique landscape of the Mittelhaardt – and it is here where we produce top-quality Riesling in harmony with nature. The Estate has always been considered to be a pioneer and trailblazer for change in German viticulture.
