Wine Region: Wachenheim, Germany
A mild winter was followed by a cool, rainy spring. The bloom began relatively late. Intensive leaf work and plant strengthening through our biodynamic management were crucial to top quality and good yields. From August we were compensated with fantastic, warm summer weather. Cool nights brought optimal conditions for perfect grape ripeness. The wonderful autumn weather enabled us to enjoy a relaxed read like we have not done for years in a reading period of almost seven weeks. The harvest was completed on October 15 and brought us wines in the cellar, which are characterized by a cool lightness, fine in style, very mineral and lighter in alcohol than in 2015.
