Wine Region: Tuscany, Italy
Grapes: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot.
Pervasive balsamic notes are accompanied by hints of ripe dark, black fruit and flowers in a perfect aromatic balance on the nose, long silky and caressing, black truffles with lovely variegated complex sensations. The final is endless, elegant. A master in balance. This wine's structure demands combinations with red meats, in complex preparations, or slowly cooked, such as stews, and blue or long aged cheeses.
About the Winery
Between the Tuscan hills and only a few kilometres from Florence, lies the COLLAZZI winery. The majestic villa, with a breath-taking architecture that has been attributed to Michelangelo, is considered to be one of the most impressive estates in Tuscany. The villa, along with its 25 hectares of vineyards, belongs to the siblings Carlo and Bona Marchi as well as Bona's son Lamberto Frescobaldi, who is the new head of one of the oldest families of Florence, the Marchesi di Frescobaldi. It is Lamberto's responsibility and knowledge under which the COLLAZZI wines are being produced.
