Wine Region: Champagne, France
The palate is dominated by refreshing mineral notes combined with a warm and consistent flavour echoing the wine richness and plumpness. From under a rich expression of ripe and dried fruit, a gentle persistent freshness comes through. A subtle and beautifully crafted framework which is the signature of Gosset champagnes.
Wine Spectator 92 - Rich and toasty, with honey and roasted almond notes layered with flavors of baked peach, orange blossom, brioche and pastry cream. A harmonious Champagne, featuring a refined mousse and bright acidity. Drink now through 2020.
Wine Enthusiast 90 - The Gosset style of dry Champagnes is well expressed in their nonvintage cuvee. It is crisp with a steely acidity that is balanced by apple and tight citrus fruit flavors. The wine is fresh while also showing a touch of bottle aging.
About the Winery
Gosset's wines are characterised by their purity and expressiveness. Grapes come mainly from premier and grand cru vineyards surrounding Epernay and their winemaking style is characterised by minimal intervention, extended ageing and no malolactic fermentation. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are the house's focus.
Since 1993 Gosset has been owned by the Renaud Cointreau family who have sought to protect the quality and character of their wines. This has led them to keep production levels moderate and to respect the history of the house along with the integrity of the region and its vineyards.
