Wine Region: Champagne, France

Tasting Notes

A golden robe, sustained, brilliant and limpid. A very fresh and expressive first nose combines notes of hawthorn, lilac, wild white flowers and more specifically fruity aromas such as pear, plum and mirabelle plums. The attack is ample, greedy with a beautiful vinosity with subtle hints of vanilla. The end is frank with acidity, which brings this balance of freshness. The aromas of citrus are clearly expressed in this wine: acidulous aromas of lemon and grapefruit, complemented by notes of fruit (pear, plums) confirming the nose but also aromas of dried fruits, fresh nuts in the mouth. The pleasantly persistent finish, refreshing salinity, lingers on notes of lemon.

About the Winery

Gosset’s wines are characterised by their purity and expressiveness. Grapes come mainly from premier and grand cru vineyards surrounding Epernay and their winemaking style is characterised by minimal intervention, extended ageing and no malolactic fermentation. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are the house’s focus.

Since 1993 Gosset has been owned by the Renaud Cointreau family who have sought to protect the quality and character of their wines. This has led them to keep production levels moderate and to respect the history of the house along with the integrity of the region and its vineyards.
