Wine Region: Adelaide Hills, Australia
Grape: Pinot Nero
Biondo Pinot Nero is a member of our ‘Uno’ collection of wines which reflect an exceptional union of grower, vineyard site and variety. Here being Darren and Lucy Golding, Lenswood and Pinot Noir (Nero).
Pinot Noir, in the coldest of vintages like 2017, is world class in the Adelaide Hills. Lenswood is ideal with its elevation and sandy soils, which give fine, fragrant characters.
Lifted herbs, black cherries, earthy and savoury.
Two clones, 777 (80%) and MV6 (20%) make up this wine. Both were hand-picked, with 30-35% whole bunches in the ferment. Wild fermentation and the MV6 had an extra two months on skins. 8 months in old French oak and bottled prior to Christmas in the year it is made. Unfined and unfiltered.
