Wine Region: Veneto, Italy
Grapes:Â Corvina veronese, Corvinone, Rondinella.
This is a dry red wine with a brilliant ruby red colour. Aromas of fresh garden flowers and loads of red fruits, cherries and cherry blossom on the nose, along with a characteristic spiciness. On the palate, sour cherries, raspberries, strawberries, and hints of woody oak. Light, gentle tannins. Extremely elegant and well-balanced.
Perfect as an aperitif and excellent with boiled white and red meats or, in general, with dishes that are not too elaborate and richly flavoured.
About the Winery
Lena di Mezzo is an entirely terraced estate of 17.8 hectares that lies in the heart of Fumane, a splendid hilly zone with tufaceous, clay and limestone soils, in which we have sought to express to the full the interdependence between the terroir and the indigenous grape varieties that are the unique heritage of the area around Verona. Scarnocchio is a very old terraced vineyard that lies inside this holding at an altitiude of over 380 metres above sea level.
