Wine Region: Blewitt Springs, McLaren Vale, Australia
A tightly wound cool climate chardonnay which leads with mouth-watering grapefruit and nectarine. Mealy granny smith apples and a fine-tuning of grilled hazelnuts and honeysuckle spice sets the foundation for the almost nettle like svelte texture. Aromatically evolving between gun flint, bee’s wax and maya lemon rind. The palate is taut and precise, and finishes long with powerful elegance.
About the Winery
His grungy, minimalist attitude towards his label has seen him gain huge cult status internationally as one of the most boundary pushing “conceptual” winemakers in Australia. From his home in the beautiful Basket Range of the Adelaide Hills, Taras and his wife Amber craft small batches of wine from surrounding vineyards in the Hills and special sites across McLaren Vale and the Barossa Valley.
