Wine Region: Blewitt Springs, McLaren Vale, Australia
Grape: Grenache, Syrah
All of the Ochota Barrels wines carry interesting and quirky names. The Green Room refers to the backstage room where performers ready themselves for the big performance in front of an audience. With Grenache sourced from the same vines planted in 1946, this whole bunch fermented Grenache Syrah is bright red/pink in the glass with a hugely perfumed nose. It's supple, textured and ripe on the palate with bounds of cheery cherry. This is a drink now with good company kind of wine.
About the Winery
His grungy, minimalist attitude towards his label has seen him gain huge cult status internationally as one of the most boundary pushing conceptual winemakers in Australia. From his home in the beautiful Basket Range of the Adelaide Hills, Taras and his wife Amber craft small batches of wine from surrounding vineyards in the Hills and special sites across McLaren Vale and the Barossa Valley.
