Wine Region: Adelaide Hills, Australia
Grape: Pinot Gris
Look: Pinot Gris grape has a grey skin. Gentle winemaking usually leaves a little of this in the wine giving it a blush colour.
Smell: The yeast leaves the aromas of Turkish delight and roses. The grape offers pear and nectarine
Taste: By leaving the wine cloudy as both a juice and a wine, it helps make it soft and gives taste of pears and lychees.
Bronze Medal Adelaide Hills Saint Martin Wine Show 2018
About the Winery: Estate-grown in Gumeracha in the Adelaide Hills.
The small town of Gumeracha is home to the world’s largest toy rocking horse, and also our vineyard.
The Saint & Scholar vineyard makes for a beautiful, spectacular backdrop for our winemakers. North facing and particularly hilly, you’ll see the fluffiest of fluffy clouds float above as the sun sinks across the valley, making you want to stay long after the day is done.
The hilly terrain means in an area of high rainfall, like the Adelaide Hills, water drains rather well. Together with the beautiful sunlight and naturally cool climate, this makes for a perfect, harmonious environment to ripen quality, consistent vines; soon to be quality, consistent wines.
