TERLATO WINES CHIMNEY ROCK ELEVAGE 2011

Wine Region: Nappa Valley, California, USA

Grape: Merlot

Tasting Notes

Made in the tradition of great right-bank Bordeaux, this dark red wine has bright purple highlights and a classic Stags Leap District aroma. Layers of blackberry, blueberry, vanilla and coffee bean balance the round palate and smooth tannins, with a hint of dark chocolate on the long finish.

Ratings

Wine Enthusiast 92pts - A Merlot-based blend with accompanying components of Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, this estate-grown wine excels in its subdued, smoky and toasty oak surrounded by juicy blackberry and a hint of graphite and leather. Textured and structured, it needs time, and will be happy in the cellar through 2026.

About the Winery

Through four generations, the Terlatos have brought the world’s finest wines to the American table as importers, marketers and vintners. Rather than focusing on a single grape or place, Tony Terlato and his family have assembled an all-star team of winemakers with the tools to create best-in-class wines from iconic appellations – to capture “magic in a glass,” as Tony says. These wines reflect the family’s highest values, and their vision of all that can be realized from soil, grape and commitment.
