Wine Region: Nappa Valley, California, USA

Grape: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot

Tasting Notes

Intense aromas of boysenberry, blueberry and cassis with a hint of vanilla, nutmeg and caramel. Beautiful flavor intensity, with rich layers of black fruits and dark chocolate. This wine is mouthfilling and robust, with silky tannins further enhancing the wine's complex expression. Great structure and depth.

Ratings

Wine Enthusiast 91 pts - Terlato's focus on Bordeaux-style red wines has paid off in the last several vintages, and this blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot continues the success streak. It has ripe, spicy flavors of blackberry jam, black currant and sweet, toasty oak, and the tannin-acid structure is balanced. Still, it's an astringent wine that needs time in the cellar, so give it at least eight years. It could age well beyond that.

About the Winery

Through four generations, the Terlatos have brought the world’s finest wines to the American table as importers, marketers and vintners. Rather than focusing on a single grape or place, Tony Terlato and his family have assembled an all-star team of winemakers with the tools to create best-in-class wines from iconic appellations – to capture “magic in a glass,” as Tony says. These wines reflect the family’s highest values, and their vision of all that can be realized from soil, grape and commitment.
