Tasting Notes

Cool and spicy notes compliment the fruit and the ripeness to (well and truly) carry the style. Stylish, complex, peppercorns and black pepper, black cherry into plum, and woodsmoke. An elegant mouthfeel, opening up to pretty florals as it breathes. Very very nice wine.

About the Winery

The Terre a Terre Rouge was first produced in 2014. This wine is made from red varieties coming from vineyards we own and manage (in 2014, this is 100% Crayeres vineyard). It will always ferment in small old barriques and large French oak Foudres and will always be a blend of Bordeaux varieties (Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot) and Shiraz.

This new blend for Terre a Terre is probably one of the most independent-minded wines of the range, demonstrating how well Shiraz and Cabernet Franc work together in an assemblage . The aromas are floral and of classic blackberry fruit and the palate shows very soft tannins with great length. Only 750 dozen were produced

Terre a Terre, a french expression meaning "Down to Earth", was started by husband and wife team Xavier Bizot and Lucy Croser with the desire to produce great Australian wines of terroir ... with a French twist.
