UGGIANO PETRAIA MERLOT DI TOSCANA IGT 2011

Wine Region: Tuscany, Italy

Grape: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon.

Tasting Notes

Complex bouquet, elegant and harmonious, with notes of red fruit accompanied by sweet and spicy scents. Full bodied on the palate, rounded with lightly tannic aftertaste.

When it comes to pairing, this is definitely a meat wine. Pair this with grilled flank steak with bacon balsamic glaze, steak and potatoes, or beef stew.

Ratings:

94 points, Tastings.com- Black ruby color. Mature aromas of raisin, plum butter, wood-grilled mushroom, spearmint, compressed watermelon, lingonberry preserve, and coffee cake with an vibrant, dryish medium-to-full body and a warming, intriguing, medium-long sun dried tomato, cedar, graphite, and charcoal finish with firm tannins and moderate oak. A lovely Super Tuscan that delivers a mature, savory streak alongside its friendly fruits.
