Wine Region: Piedmonte, Italy
Brilliant purple color. Small red fruits, sour cherry, violet and hay: an aromatic range that reminds of summer walks in the mountains... and exciting vinosity that reigns in the cellar in September. Soft, open in the mouth and balanced, it has delicate tannins accompanied by fresh acidity.
Robert Parker 90 Points: "Vajra's 2011 Dolcetto d' Alba emerges from the glass with blackberries, smoke, game and incense. This is a decidedly dark, brooding Dolcetto that at times recalls Syrah in its flavor profile. Firm tannins frame the long, insistent finish. This is a fabulous showing and a serious over achiever."
About the Winery
The land asks for absolute dedication. It asks to be loved for better or worse, in abundance and scarcity. The land is almost more than a house. It's part of our life and asks to be guarded with the same tenderness that we have for our loved ones. And the amazing thing is that, despite all the difficulties, to love it does not need any effort.
