Wine Region: Emilia, Italy
Beguiling with subtle and ethereal notes of balsamic notes and undergrowth that after some air turns into copious amounts of cherries and blackberries with hints of rose and violets, followed by a slight sensation of tobacco. Remarkably fresh and balanced, with well-integrated alcohol and tannins. Persistent with spice and fruit through the end.
About the Winery
La Stoppa is an historic estate in the province of Piacenza in the Emilia region of Italy. There are 32 hectares of vines, along with almost as much forest, plus the ruins of a medieval tower. The property was founded and planted first in the late 19th century by a lawyer named Giancarlo Ageno, whose main interest was Bordeaux varieties.
